Out of town

19 april 2024 - Rhodos, Griekenland

For the last week I've been going on a couple out of town trips. On monday I decided to test my stomach with a sailing trip. It passed, thankfully. I'm feeling a lot more certain about my upcoming ferry trips to Athene and Bari thanks to that. The sailing trip itself was very nice, we sailed along the coast of Rhodes until Kalithea, a town a little bit further south on the island. There we went for a swim and a tiny bit of cave exploring which was highly enjoyable. The mediterranean water tastes the same as the north sea water as far as i can tell, but it is definitely warmer at this time of year. Wednesday I took the bus to Lindos, which is another town on the island, about 1,5hrs south from here. It is even more idyllic with beaches and a large acropolis on the hilltop. To the south side of it is a tiny bay where according to the stories Paul landed during a storm on his third missionary trip. There's a small chapel and they call it St. Paul's Bay. It is beautiful. It is seeing places like this that really make travelling so much more fun than I had expected at first. In the upcoming week or so I will be travelling through the Greek mainland to Italy and I can hardly wait to see what wonders lie ahead.
