Fethiye

This is my third day in Fethiye, which means it's time for some comparing. Demre was about as flat as the Netherlands. Fethiye is not. The front door of my hotel, facing the harbor is 3 floors below my room. The backentrance of the hotel, and the reception are directly next to my room on the 3rd floor and come out onto a quiet street. Both hotels gave me room 301, but where the one in Demre had a balcony, this one has a street. Most people here speak a little bit of english. Somehow it's quieter even though it's bigger. But that could just be because my room in Demre was facing the main highway in these parts. Fethiye is definitely more used to tourists, and as a sort of tourist myself I find that actually rather nice. It feels less strange or weird to walk around town looking at things. And the sights are enjoyable as well. Not as many excavated ruins by comparison, but defintely better seaside views. The breeze ain't so bad either.
